How do I get started?

All design projects begin through the Contact Us page.

Send your project details, questions, and any reference materials you would like Robin to review. Every inquiry is personally reviewed, and you can typically expect a response within two business days with questions, next steps, or a sample design when applicable.

There is no shopping cart or automated ordering system for custom design work. Each project is reviewed individually so the service, pricing, and creative direction are clear before moving forward.

Do I need to pay a deposit for custom book cover design?

No. A deposit is not required to begin a custom book cover design.

​

For custom covers, Robin typically creates a sample design before payment is requested. Once you are happy with the direction and approve the sample, an invoice will be emailed to you.  After payment is received, the cover will move into final production. This may include completing requested minor revisions, preparing final typography and layout details, creating the required formats, and preparing your finished files for delivery.

 

For print covers, final production also requires the correct printer template or final page count and trim specifications before the completed print cover can be prepared.

Please wait until you receive your invoice before submitting payment. Florida Girl Design Inc. does not bill in advance or hold deposits for future design work.

Are all services invoiced after a sample is approved?

No. Some services do not include an initial sample stage.

​

Supporting designs, Digital Design Rescue, box set designs, promotional packages, and similar add-on design services are generally invoiced when the project is accepted and scheduled.

If a different payment arrangement applies to your project, you will be advised before work begins.

What do you charge for design services?

Florida Girl Design Inc. believes in straightforward, transparent pricing. Most design services are offered at a flat rate based on the type of project being ordered. Current custom book cover rates can be found on the Pricing page.

Pricing for box set designs, promotional packages, supporting graphics, and other specialty services can be found on their respective service pages.

​

If a project requires unusual or extensive work beyond the standard service, any additional fees will be discussed with you before proceeding.

How do I pay?

Once your invoice is received, payment can be made securely online through the payment link included with your invoice.

 

Florida Girl Design Inc. accepts major credit cards through QuickBooks as well as PayPal. Pay directly from the invoice or send Paypal payment to PayPal.Me. If using PayPal separately, please use the total shown on your emailed invoice.

Prices are listed in U.S. dollars. Applicable sales tax will be added when required.

How long does design take?

Turnaround varies depending on the type and complexity of the project. Turnaround times are estimates and may vary during especially busy periods, holidays, scheduled studio closures, or when a project is waiting on information or feedback from the client.

 

For custom book cover design, the initial design process generally begins quickly after your inquiry is reviewed. Once a sample has been approved and payment has been received, completed cover files are typically prepared within 5–7 business days. Series projects, multiple-cover orders, extensive revisions, or more complex designs may require additional time.

From initial concept through final delivery, most custom cover projects are completed within approximately 2–3 weeks.

​

Supporting graphics and smaller design projects can often be completed within a few business days.

​

How will I receive my finished files?

Finished files will be delivered electronically. Files are emailed whenever possible. When files are too large for email, a Dropbox folder or file-sharing link will be provided. Please download and safely store your completed design files after delivery.

You do not need a paid Dropbox account to access files shared with you. Dropbox.com offers a free basic plan here.

Can I call and speak with someone?

Florida Girl Design Inc. is a remote-first design studio, and written email communication is preferred for project inquiries because it provides a clear record of specifications, revisions, pricing, and approvals.
