I have only been to one other convention that has as much entertainment value as Penned Con. This was my first time attending and I was astounded by the organization and ease of participation considering the size of the event. This summer I had the opportunity to attend Space Coast Book Lovers convention in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Not only was I attending as an enthusiastic reader, but also as a Featured Industry Professional. As a sponsor of the event I donated graphic design, designed and printed coloring bookmarks for the convention, had a table at the dessert party, and hosted a workshop on cover design. No one can go wrong with beautiful ocean views, exciting lightning storms, and campfire smore

I see so many questions from authors on social media asking about readers’ preferences for swag or asking what other authors are having success with. I thought I would address this from my point of view, both as a reader and industry professional Simply put, I still find it essential. When designed with the right content in a professional manner I think paper swag is still invaluable. As a reader and designer, when I am at book conventions I love taking paper swag of authors

I love social networking for building relationships in the book industry. I also enjoy keeping up with all of the connections I have made through blogging, cover design, conventions and my love of reading. I am always available to answer questions or give advice.
